The iPhone 11 Pro is the more recent of the two phones, released in September 2019, in comparison to iPhone XR’s October 2018 release. However, are there any surprises from the iPhone XR that we didn’t know about when head-to-head with the iPhone 11 Pro? Let’s find out with a detailed spec comparison below.
When it comes to camera quality, the iPhone 11 Pro camera system will look significantly more impressive than the iPhone XR; the 11 Pro has a triple camera lens system of 12 MP each for taking wide, telephoto, and ultrawide angled shots. The iPhone XR in comparison has only a single wide 12 MP camera lens. The selfie camera quality is also superior on the 11 Pro with 12 MP, whereas the XR is only 7 MP. All in all, this makes the 11 Pro better for taking pictures and videos.
The battery life of both phones is quite similar to each other surprisingly, the 11 Pro has a 3046 mAh battery and the XR a 2942 mAh battery making it very difficult to tell apart in terms of duration. This means that if you are using either phone for web browsing or video streaming, you can expect around 10-12 hours of battery life from both devices. The display size and resolution however differs between these two phones; The 11 Pro has a 5.8 inch screen with 1125 x 2436 px resolution while the XR has a 6.1 inch screen with 828 x 1792 px resolution - depending on your preference, you can opt for either a more impressive and vibrant screen with the 11 Pro, or have a bigger display screen to bring a more pleasant content viewing experience. The sacrifice is a bigger but less sharp screen than the 11 Pro. Both phones come in multiple colors; The 11 Pro comes in Midnight Green, Space Gray, Silver and Gold while the XR comes in Black, White, Blue Coral and Red - giving users more options when choosing their device color scheme! When it comes to storage capacity there is a slight difference between these two devices; The 11 pro offers up to 512 GB of storage space while the XR only offers up to 256 GB - meaning that users can store much more data on their device if they choose an 11 pro over an XR! Finally when it comes to chipset and processor speed as well as RAM capacity there is also a small difference between these two devices; The 11 pro features Apple's A13 Bionic chip which runs at 2x faster than the XR (A12 Bionic chip) as well as 4GB RAM which allows for smoother multitasking compared to 3GB RAM found on an iPhone XR!
Choosing a winner was pretty straightforward in this case; the iPhone 11 Pro showed improvements across all important aspects (except for the battery which is minor), however if you’re looking to save extra money and willing to sacrifice on some qualities for the price, then the XR is a pretty good bargain.
