Your phone's worth varies based on the model, carrier, external condition, performance and storage. Back Market will make you an offer instantly online after you answer a few questions to help us asses your phone's value. Right now, the max value for a trade-in smartphone on Back Market is $756. This price is based on an iPhone 15 Pro Max 1000 GB with little to no external wear and no performance issues.
What do I need to do before I sell my phone?
If you accept an offer, Back Market will walk you through everything you need to do before shipping it to us. Generally, you'll want to back up all your data on another device and factory reset your phone before sending it in.
Is shipping included for phone sales or trade ins?
Yes, Back Market will provide a pre-paid shipping label for you to send us your trade in device after you've accepted an offer. In some cases, we'll also send a mailing kit to eligible customers to help you safely package your device for shipping.
When should I sell my old phone?
Offers on phones will vary throughout the year, but generally the best times are the weeks leading up to Apple, Samsung or Google's newest phone releases or near the end of the year during the Holiday season. Of course, year-to-year, any phone model's value will tend to trend down, so the sooner you can sell your phone, the more money you'll likely make.
How quickly will I get paid after selling my phone?
After the buyer has received your phone and confirmed its value based on the questionnaire you filled out, you will get paid via direct-deposit, typically within 2-3 business days.
What happens to my phone after I sell it?
When you sell your phone on Back Market, it will be received by a certified refurbisher, who will determine if it can be 'revived' to work like new, or if it needs to be properly recycled. If your phone cannot be fixed, the buyer will repurpose the useable parts and recycle the rest, so that it stays out of our landfills 🌎
